FAQs for Private Guiding

  • I’m so glad you found me! Rock climbing (on real rock) is such a special experience. Whether this is your first time climbing ever or your first time climbing outside, you’re in good hands.

  • Yes! I love working with experienced climbers to hone skills, push personal limits and achieve goals. I’ve worked with many experienced climbers to push past mental barriers to climb harder grades in both sport and trad and feel more confident doing it.

If you aren’t interested in direct coaching, there are probably multi-pitch climbs that have always been on your list that you don’t feel comfortable leading yourself.

I’d love to take the stress out of climbing more intermediate to advanced routes so you can just toprope and enjoy the day!

  • Yes! Learning skills like these from a professional guide is typically much better than learning from a friend. With a guide, you’ll learn best practices with the focus and support to learn at your own pace. Learning/honing outdoor climbing skills will empower you to have more agency in your climbing.

  • Yes! If you are traveling from somewhere else or don’t have the necessary gear for our climbing day, I can provide any gear you might need, including:

    • Climbing shoes

    • Harness

    • Helmet

    • Chalk bag

    • Belay device

    • Extra layers

    • Backpack to carry your things

    For multi-pitch climbing:

    • Extra locking carabiners

    • Personal anchor system

    • Rappel device

    • Small backpack to carry on the climb

    • Extra layers

  • Yes! Climbing with friends and family is a great way to connect and spend time together in a beautiful place.

I can guide up to 6 people without an additional guide. If your group is larger than 6, I need to know in advance so I can find another guide to support.

  • No. I’m sorry to say that you’ll have to supply your own food, water and snacks for our climbing day. That way you get to bring your favorite foods! If you’re lucky, I might share some snacks with you.

  • Yes! I love working with kids whether that’s with the family, solo or with a group of friends.

If you want to organize a group of friends for a summer camp or regular climbing in the summer together, I’d love to arrange that.

*Anyone under the age of 18 will need a parent/guardian to sign a wavier for them.

  • Yes! Climbing is a great way for people to connect.

I can provide a simple outdoor climbing day, which is great in and of itself for team bonding and fun connection.

I can also provide a more in depth team building workshop along with the outdoor climbing.

*If your team is more than 6 people, please book at least a week in advance so I can be sure enough guides are available.

  • Good question. Guiding is considered a service industry job and tipping is typical (and greatly appreciated).

Tip what feels good to you. You can think of it like other service industry jobs and offer 18%-25% of the full cost. Some people choose to tip more than that, others offer less.

Regardless of how much, your gratuity. is greatly appreciated.

If gratuity feels out of your means, there are other ways you can support Sunrise Mindset!

We’d love a 5 star review on google, for you to tag us in your photos on instagram, and for you to recommend Sunrise Mindset to your friends and family! Thank you!
